Dr Paula Grey - Director of Public Health

Paula was formerly Director of Public Health in Central  Paula
and South Liverpool Primary Care Trust. She
is now Director of Public Health for Liverpool, in a joint appointment with Liverpool City Council. Her remit takes in 450,000 residents.

She is supported by an innovative public health team, which is responsible for tackling health inequalities. This includes the development of a strong primary prevention team, developing programmes to address Liverpool's key health priorities.

Her responsibilities include:

  • Health Protection - preventing and controlling communicable diseases, reducing the risk from environmental hazards and planning for emergencies
  • Preventive and health priorities - working with organisations and the public to improve health
  • Effective health care - making sure hospital and primary care services meet the needs of the public and are based on evidence of what works
