Sustainability
Liverpool Primary Care Trust (PCT) aims to provide leadership in the city region in improving sustainability.
The way in which we conduct our operations and engage with stakeholders has a significant impact on sustainability and the determinants of health. We wish to be a Good Corporate Citizen (GCC) which means using our influence and resources in ways that benefit the social, economic and environmental conditions in which we live, reducing health inequalities.
We have produced a Good Corporate Citizen stratgey which sets out what we aim to achieve and the priority areas and actions to take forward to achieve our goals.
A Carbon Collective has been established involving all Liverpool NHS partners, and a joint appplication to join the Carbon Trust’s Carbon Management Programme has been submitted. Working with the Carbon Trust, we have also conducted energy surveys of key buildings and are in the process of setting carbon reduction priorities.
Work has begun on scoping a travel plan for the PCT, and discussions are underway to develop a sustainable procurement plan.
