Commitment to Equality and Diversity
Liverpool Primary Care Trust is committed to Equality and Diversity to ensure that we meet and importantly exceed its statutory obligations. We continuously strive to improve working practices so it creates organisations that are recognised both internally and externally for embracing diversity and demonstrating equality.
Existing and impending legislative changes require public organisations to develop Equality and Human Rights Schemes and Action Plans to address issues of race, disability and gender together with those relating to age, sexual orientation, and religion or belief.
The Single Equality and Human Rights Scheme outlines our approach to managing equality and diversity, and sets out our overall vision, commitment, goals and action plans in relation to building on and expanding our equality and diversity work. The scheme is underpinned by action plans to ensure that equality and diversity is accepted and embedded into every policy and function.
Guidelines are in place to make sure that Liverpool Primary Care Trust can meet its commitment to ensure that events are accessible for delegates, in one-to-one meetings, larger meetings, seminars or conferences. These guidelines are available in the ‘Accessible events for all’ document.
Liverpool PCT has signed up to Age Positive, Mindful Employer, Stonewall and Two Ticks (Positive about Disabled People).
