Expert Patients

The Expert Patient Programme (EPP) is a free Image of a woman smiling
six-week course designed to help people living with a long-term health condition improve the quality of their lives.

The primary aim is not to talk about medical information, but to help people develop self-management skills needed to cope with daily life with a long-term illness. The programme tutors are all people who have long-term conditions themselves and have participated on the course, so they understand the difficulties people face.

The course is free, and is open to adults (over 18) who have a long-term condition such as diabetes, osteoarthritis, depression, chronic pain and asthma.

The course takes place over a six weekly sessions of two and a half hours each.
